Potato gnocchi
The potato dumplings are a basic preparation typical of Italian cuisine, it is a mixture of boiled potatoes, egg and flour, from which they are made chunks of round shape and size variable: small dumplings (“chicche”) usually smooth, or the biggest gnocchi.
The gnocchi are boiled in boiling water and then seasoned with different sauces.
Potato Gnocchi
Servings 10 portions
Ingredients
- 1 kg potatoes
- 100 gr flour
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper
- nutmeg
Instructions
- Wash the potatoes, put them in a saucepan with plenty of cold water, boil and cook for 40 minutes.
- Peel the potatoes, put them in the potato masher and place directly on the pastry board, then add the remaining ingredients and knead until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Form the gnocchi the size you prefer and flour them.
- Cook in salted water.
