Polenta cakes

This polenta cake can be a hot appetizer or a hearty dish, it is very versatile in combinations, it can be served hot as a side dish to a meat stew or as an appetizer with a cheese fondue that covers it or a cream of porcini, all ingredients that can also be added to the heart of the cake during the formation of the moulds.

Ingredients

  • 250 gr yellow polenta (mais flour)
  • 250 gr flour
  • 20 gr yeast
  • 350 gr water
  • 350 g milk or cream
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 6 egg whites whipped to snow

Instructions

  • Cook the polenta in salted water and leave it soft.
  • Apart from creating a Polish with yeast and a little water and let rise.
  • Knead all the ingredients with the egg yolks.
  • Add whipped egg whites.
  • Once the dough is homogeneous put in buttered cups.
  • Bake in the oven at 160 º C.
